Poem-Darkest Hour

I take the pain and drag it across my tender flesh.
I will take my pain away
I will take my fears away
Even if it is only temporarily
I close my eyes and see myself happy but they the dark clouds roll in

The blade so sharp when it pricks my skin
Blood drops fall below
Followed by a tear
Darkness fills the room and surrounds her, filling her heart to the brim
Her eyes close to rest until another day

*I wrote this about a time in my life that was a very dark period.
